Meet Steve
Steve Sauter is a fifth-generation North Dakotan and Bismarck resident. He is proud to call District 7 and North Dakota home and is excited the oportunity to help the community and state grow without losing what makes them so special.
A longtime leader in North Dakota’s energy, manufacturing, and industrial sectors, Steve has spent the past 19 years with Interstate Companies, starting in the warehouse and working his way through outside sales, branch management, regional leadership, and ultimately to Executive Vice President of the Interstate Bearing Systems division. His career has taken him across North Dakota and the region, working directly with the people and industries that build, fix, transport, and produce the things our state depends on every day.
Steve and his wife, Crystal, are raising their three children—Ethan (11), Bentley (7), and Hailey (5)—in Bismarck. Family is the foundation of everything Steve does, and it’s the reason he decided to step forward and serve.

From taxes to everyday costs, North Dakotans deserve an affordable place to live. Steve believes in practical, limited government that spends responsibly, respects taxpayers, and focuses on real results instead of politics.

Energy, agriculture, and manufacturing are the backbone of North Dakota’s economy. Steve supports responsible energy development that protects good-paying jobs, strengthens local communities, and provides the revenue our state relies on for schools, infrastructure, and services. North Dakotans don’t just talk about work—we do the work—and Steve will push for the policies that keep our state one of the best places for business.
